About the Morse Code Translator

Morse code — dots and dashes over 180 years old — still lives in amateur radio, scouting, and pop culture. Type text and see it become Morse instantly, or paste Morse (use . - / and spaces) and decode it back to readable words. The audio playback taps out your message at a speed you control, with tone frequency adjustable, so you can learn by ear the way operators always have. A full A–Z and 0–9 chart is included.

How to use the Morse Code Translator

  1. Choose Text→Morse or Morse→Text.
  2. Type your message — translation is instant.
  3. Press Play to hear the Morse audio.
  4. Adjust speed until it matches your skill.

Key features

How is Morse code structured?
Letters are dot/dash patterns (A = ·−), separated by spaces; words are separated by a slash or wider gap. E is one dot — the most common letter gets the shortest code.
What is SOS in Morse?
··· −−− ··· — three dots, three dashes, three dots, sent as one continuous symbol. It was chosen for unmistakability, not as an abbreviation.
