About the BMR & Calorie Calculator

Your BMR — basal metabolic rate — is the energy your body burns just staying alive, and multiplying it by an activity factor gives your TDEE: the calories you actually burn per day. This calculator uses the Mifflin-St Jeor equation, the most accurate general formula, from your age, sex, height and weight, then presents TDEE across five activity levels plus the calorie targets for losing (−500 kcal) or gaining (+500 kcal) weight sensibly.

How to use the BMR & Calorie Calculator

  1. Enter age, sex, height and weight.
  2. Read your BMR at the top.
  3. Find the row matching your activity level.
  4. Use the loss/gain targets for your goal.

Key features

What is the difference between BMR and TDEE?
BMR is calories burned at complete rest; TDEE multiplies BMR by your activity level to estimate total daily burn. Eat at TDEE to maintain, below it to lose.
How accurate is Mifflin-St Jeor?
It is the most accurate general-population formula, typically within 10% of lab measurements. Individual metabolism still varies, so adjust based on real-world results.
